Spontaneity and Stability, 36" x 48", 2010

During a time of transition in my life, I created this quilt incorporating many symbolic images. Life is a balance of adventure and routine, growth and stillness, spontaneity and stability. A rock solid foundation encourages soaring and branching out to new experiences. Details and layers of meaning find their way into tiny crevices and, unexpected blossoms thrive in the rocky soil. This quilt was Juried into the Beneath The Surface special exhibit premiering at the International Quilt Festival in Long Beach in 2010.
